Tara Coyt Publishing Fund

The Tara Coyt Publishing Fund for Scholars Chronicling the Black Experience supports publishing efforts of scholars writing nonfiction books exploring any aspect of Black life, culture, history, etc., around the world.


PUBLISHING SUBVENTION GRANTS – fund specific printing costs associated with manuscripts that meet grant guidelines and have been accepted by a U.S. nonprofit/university press.
Grantee (a U.S. nonprofit/university press) may receive up to $10,000 for each book.

MANUSCRIPT REVIEW WORKSHOP GRANT – funds a final-stage peer-review workshop of selected manuscripts that fit the above criteria.
The Fund will partner with a university or professional organization to administer grants (oversee the selection process) and manage the peer-review workshops.


BOOK TALK – Grant recipients are also eligible for an author talk, debate, or panel discussion after publication.
